Too often, unused prescription medications find their way into the wrong hands. That’s dangerous, and often tragic.
During DEA National Drug Take Back, the Monroe County Prevention & Wellness Coalition (PWC), in partnership with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration and local law enforcement, is providing multiple opportunities to safely dispose of expired, unused, or unwanted medications.
Official DEA National Drug Take Back Day is Saturday, April 25th, but we’re expanding access with additional local collection events earlier in the week.
We will also have limited capacity to accept VAPES, through a partnership with Keep Monroe County Beautiful, and SHARPS (needles), through a partnership with the Monroe County Health Department.
Bring your medications for disposal. The service is free and anonymous—no questions asked.
